Can psychotherapy therapy help?

From the American Psychological Association: “Research demonstrates that psychotherapy is effective for a variety of mental and behavioral health issues and across a spectrum of population groups. The average effects of psychotherapy are larger than the effects produced by many medical treatments.”

How does online therapy/video therapy/teletherapy compare to in-person therapy?

Studies have shown that, while online therapy via video is not for everyone, it generally is just as effective for most people. For some with mobility issues or other impediments to in-person sessions it can be especially helpful.

Online therapy also means that you can be located anywhere in Norway and have access to the mental health services of a trained female psychologist from the comfort of your own home. From any city and county in Norway, including: Ålesund, Bergen, Bodø, Fredrikstad, Gjøvik, Hamar, Kristiansand, Oslo, Sandnes, Skien, Stavanger, Trondheim, and Tromsø.

If you need immediate/emergency help:

If you or someone you know is acutely suicidal, call 113. If you or someone you know requires immediate assistance the best option is to contact your primary physician (fastlege) during the day or call 116 or 117 to contact the nearest emergency room. Ask to speak to the psychiatric emergency room (psykiatrisk legevakt) or another psychological service; availability varies from municipality (kommune) to municipality.
